In a previous chapter of my life I made television for a living. For a while you could find me working on the acclaimed late-night television show Conan and then I seamlessly transitioned into the dynamic world of live events at NBC and other major networks. I was enthralled with my work on gigantic productions like the Met Gala, The Grammy Awards, the Primetime Emmy Awards, Super Bowl LII and the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
However, when the 2020 pandemic struck, the world seemed to screech to a halt. Like many others, I found myself reflecting deeply on life during the long months of lockdown. I realized that most of what seemed important before truly didn’t matter. What really counted were the simple joys of family, the time spent together, and the memories created along the way. This newfound perspective ignited a longing within me to capture those precious moments, leading me to rekindle my passion for photography.
In the realm of wedding photography, inspiration often comes from unexpected places, and for me, some of it stemmed from a familial connection— the late Monica Hickey, my great aunt and a distinguished wedding dress designer. Referred to as the Doyenne of Bridal Gowns, she outfitted celebrities and socialites for their lavish nuptials for decades, including bridal designer Vera Wang. Honoring her legacy, I infuse my work with the elegance and sophistication she embodied, embracing the chance to tell stories of love and connection through my lens as I capture your most treasured memories.
I thrive on the energy and emotion of weddings, where every moment is filled with beauty and spontaneity. There’s something magical about family and friends reuniting in an atmosphere filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments as everyone gathers to celebrate this milestone.
It’s exhilarating to witness people coming together from all walks of life to share in one night of pure fun and bliss; where the laughter, dancing, and lively conversations make each event so unique.
I find the tender, intimate moments moments of weddings to be the most heartwarming. The quiet exchange of vows, the tearful embraces between family members, and the subtle, loving glances between the couple. These moments, often unscripted, are what make every wedding unique. I find the first look to be especially cherished. That quiet, emotional exchange is a beautiful pause in the day, where love and excitement are written all over their faces. I also love witnessing the heartfelt speeches, where family and friends pour their love into words, sharing their pride and joy, creating moments of laughter and tears. It’s these intimate family connections that make the celebration feel more than just a grand event—it’s a day of love, legacy, and togetherness.
I’m captivated by the intricate details that make each wedding a unique masterpiece, reflecting the couple’s personal style and story. Every element transforms the space to feels both intimate and extraordinary. From the carefully chosen floral arrangements and elegant jewelry to the exquisite table settings elevate the entire experience, while signature cocktails add a personalized flair that delights guests. Each thoughtfully curated detail weaves together to create a cohesive and stunning celebration that feels like a dream.
Each wedding has its own rhythm, and I thrive on telling those one-of-a-kind stories with the same care and creativity I honed in television. I love the process of creating a wedding album, where I get to curate the most meaningful images, building a cohesive story that reflects the couple’s journey. The album becomes a tangible keepsake, a beautiful retelling of their day that they can relive with their friends and family for a lifetime. For me, the ability to tell these love stories through both my photography and design is what makes this work so fulfilling.
